Air conditioning work on South Maryland Parkway

Maryland Parkway is one of the main north to south routes through Paradise, the unincorporated town formed on December 8, 1950 that now holds a population of 191,238. The southern part of the parkway runs through a long established mixed area: apartment complexes, older single family streets, retail, offices and medical buildings, in a part of the valley that was developed well before the outward expansion of the 1990s and 2000s.

Aged multifamily stock is its own specialism

A great deal of the housing along South Maryland is rental apartments of some age, and the mechanical systems match. Packaged terminal units under windows, wall mounted units, and older central plant serving a whole block are all common, and all three tend to be maintained reactively rather than on a schedule. The recurring problems are blocked condensate causing water damage, filters that have been left far too long, and capacity that has quietly dropped so far that a unit runs permanently without ever satisfying the room.

The load a South Maryland system is actually carrying

Las Vegas averages a July high of 104 degrees on about 4.18 inches of rain a year, and monsoon moisture in July and August raises humidity and brings scattered thunderstorms. Inside the built up core, overnight temperatures fall less than on the valley edges, so equipment here runs closer to continuously through a summer than equipment further out.
