AC Installation and Repair in West Union, AZ

Air conditioning work along West Union Hills

The West Union Hills Drive corridor runs across north Phoenix between the Interstate 17 and the Deer Valley area. It is a mixed stretch: established single family subdivisions from the 1980s and 1990s, a good deal of multifamily and townhome development, and a steady line of offices, medical suites and light industrial space along the road itself. That mix means the work here splits fairly evenly between residential systems and small commercial rooftop units.

Rooftop units and residential systems fail differently

A packaged rooftop unit on a Union Hills office or suite runs longer hours than a house does, and it fails in its own ways: economizer dampers stick, belts and bearings wear, and condensate drains block and back up into the ceiling. The first sign is usually one part of a tenancy going warm while the rest is fine. A residential split system in the same neighborhood is more likely to announce itself with a compressor that will not start or a coil freezing over. Telling us which of those you are dealing with gets the right contractor to you faster.

The load a Union Hills system is actually carrying

The Phoenix area reaches 100 degrees on average from May 2 to October 5, about 156 days, and 110 degrees between June 11 and August 26, on roughly 7.22 inches of rain a year. Rooftop equipment takes the full sun load all day with no shading at all, which is why commercial units in this valley tend to need maintenance on a shorter interval than their manuals suggest.
