Jersey Village is a city in west central Harris County, set around US Highway 290, Farm to Market Road 529 and the old Southern Pacific railroad line. It started as farmland: Clark W. Henry ran the F&M Dairy on 1,236 acres here and raised Jersey cattle, which is where the name comes from. When his health declined he released the land for a residential community, and Henry and LeRoy Kennedy began developing it in February 1954.
